Mobile tickets are now available
The ability to connect with consumers across multiple channels and touchpoints is a necessity in today’s changing business. As a ticketing company we know the importance of adapting to mobile consumer behavior and therefore we are happy that we now can introduce all our organizers and their customers to Venuepoint’s mobile ticket product.
Mobile tickets are added as a new delivery type and ticket buyers can now order, pay for and receive tickets from any location and at any time using their smartphone. Ticket buyers can purchase event tickets quick and easily without needing to use a computer or printer, or wait for a hard copy ticket to be delivered via the post. And to make it as easy as possible for the buyers, it’s all based on standard formats so it’ll be delivered to Wallet (iOS) or Pass2U (Android).
What’s the benefit?
First of all, organizers will get a better distribution of tickets that will benefit the customers as they more easily and faster can get access to their tickets and present them immediately at the entrance. This means faster scanning and happier customers. On the day of the event it is furthermore highly attractive for ticket buyers to quickly buy and have their tickets delivered.
As volumes pick up, mobile tickets hold a lot of potential in facilitating communication with customers and creating geo-specific offerings, but they will from the start offer great convenience for the ticket buyer.
People are ready for it
The pilot phase through January and February saw very positive customer reactions – around 10% of tickets sold online were sold as mobile tickets, and hardly any problems came up.
“I have to say that I’m a bit surprised. Personally I expected a very slow uptake, and quite a bit of problems as people weren’t used to downloading tickets, but we saw almost immediately pickup, and almost no problems of any kind. I guess I underestimated just how ready consumers were”, says Martin Gammeltoft, CCO of Venuepoint.
The full roll out of mobile tickets happened on February 25th 2016.
